The VisitRichmond Partnership is an informal group made up of around 25 of the key local players in tourism. The Borough is represented on, and services, the Partnership through the offices of the Tourism & Events Manager. The Partnership offers networking opportunities and provides a vehicle for a range of relatively low key but effective marketing and other related activities e.g. the tourist information point.
The Council has recently suggested that it may be appropriate to consider a more formal structure, led and supported by the private sector and involving a wider spectrum of players. There was some uncertainty in the group around this proposal and some consternation about changing the existing structure. The aim of this consultancy was to provide an independent facilitator to manage a meeting of partner members to consider the issues and future options. This report summarises the discussion at the meeting, the issues raised and the preliminary conclusions drawn.
