South West Tourism Intelligence Gathering

Client: South West Tourism and SWRDA
Date: 2003
As part of the preparation work for the new regional tourism strategy we were commissioned to prepare a ‘tourism bible’ for the region collating information on the scale, nature and characteristics of tourism in the South West. This involved a major survey of the tourism industry, case studies of competitor regions, building a tourism forecasting model, and qualitative market research to refine the knowledge of key market segments. The data was presented in hard copy along with a commentary on the key issues and also placed on the web to facilitate access.
