Sustainable tourism strategies for the Shropshire Hills and Wye Valley
Client: Shropshire Hills AONB and Wye Valley AONB
Date: 2011
During 2011 The Tourism Company prepared two important strategies for sustainable tourism in the exceptional landscapes of the border country between England and Wales. First, we worked in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to prepare a strategy and action plan for the whole destination including Ludlow and a series of neighbouring market towns. Following this we worked in the Wye Valley, recognised as the birthplace of tourism from the appeal of the 'Wye Tour' in the late eighteenth century reflecting the richness of its natural and cultural assets.
