Coastal Recreation Strategy for Shepway
Client: Kent County Council, Interreg IVa
Date: 2010
This project was part of a wider initiative on coastal tourism being funded under Interreg IVa, being carried out jointly by partners in Kent/Shepway, West Flanders and Pas de Calais. The overall aim is to increase tourism activity on the coastal areas of the participating authorities. This work involved preparing a pilot coastal management strategy for Shepway which will be used to inform work in the other areas in West Flanders and Pas de Calais. It required an audit of activities and infrastructure along the coast, identification of opportunities for improved management and development of a delivery plan for the preferred option.
