The National Forest covers 200 square miles across the central Midlands, covering a large part of the redundant coal mining area of Leicestershire and Derbyshire along with the ancient woodlands of Needwood and Charnwood. We were commissioned to prepare a new 20 year vision for tourism in The National Forest and a 5 year Action Plan following our work in the early 1990s where we set out the original strategy for tourism, sport and leisure in the newly designated Forest.
