Visitor experiences in England’s National Parks picture
The ‘English National Parks Experience Collection’ is a set of bookable products which provide visitors with a creative hands-on experiences of England’s finest landscapes. It is supported by the Discover England Fund. We were asked by VisitEngland to assist in the further development of the collection, seeing how it could better support sustainable land management within the National Parks. The project involved identifying examples of initiatives around the world which demonstrate how visitors have been engaged in creative experiences of agriculture and forestry, leading to positive environmental benefits. Our report provides detailed descriptions of programmes in Costa Rica, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, New Zealand and the USA, and draws on them to provide advice and inspiration to VisitEngland and local stakeholders.
