The Tourism Society announced that Welcome to Yorkshire and the Tourism Company have both become corporate members, taking the total to 12 following the very successful 2009 conference in Yorkshire. The corporate membership scheme was introduced in 2007.

Gary Verity, Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, commentated:“We have become a corporate member of The Tourism Society as membership will help my team to further develop our industry networking capabilities and open up new business opportunities. This is an extremely exciting time for our organisation. We witnessed the quality of the Society’s conference and high profile of its members during the recent conference in York. We are certainly looking forward to working closely with the Society and its members.”

Chris Evans, Director of the Tourism Company, stated: “The Tourism Company is delighted to become a corporate member of the Tourism Society. The three Directors, Richard Denman, Steve Beioley and Chris Evans have been individual members for many years and as our company has developed, we and our staff have greatly valued the professional learning opportunities offered by the Society’s meetings and the chance to meet and share experiences with the wide range of members.
