London Accommodation Quality

Client: London Tourist Board and London Development Agency
Date: 2003
A major study of the options available for addressing quality issues in London’s accommodation stock. This involved examining the scale and nature of the problem, estimating the total size of the stock, exploring the impact of the national quality assurance scheme, examining other regulatory regimes, experience in cities abroad, and the potential impact of ‘Fitness for Purpose’. A major section of the report explored the case for adopting a statutory approach. The study involved extensive consultation and workshops with accommodation operators.
