Compilation of information on tourism relevant to marine planning in South Inshore and Offshore Marine Plan areas
Client: Marine Management Organisation
Date: 2013
We worked with Atkins for the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) to identify and collate information on tourism that is relevant for marine planning in the South Inshore and South Offshore Plan areas, a coastline that stretches from Folkestone to the River Dart in Devon. The work provided the MMO with a comprehensive review of the extent and relevance of the evidence base for the tourism sector, and identified key gaps where future research may be targeted. We were also been asked to investigate indicators to test the success of marine plan policies for tourism, the use of tourism information in an ecosystem services approach and how tourism can deliver UK sustainable development objectives in the South Plan Areas.
