Tourism Strategy for South East England

Tourism Strategy for South East England Picture
Having prepared the previous two regional tourism strategies for South East England we were delighted to be asked by SEEDA and TSE to prepare the tourism strategy for the new TSE area in 2004 – Tourism ExSEllence. We began by preparing a short issues paper outlining the current situation and future challenges. This was circulated to a wide range of stakeholders and made available on the TSE website. After reviewing the feedback we then drew up a top level strategy identifying some 14 key priorities and actions grouped under 3 main objectives – Promoting a ‘must visit’ region, Providing an unrivalled experience, Establishing effective management and organisation. In recognition of the size and diversity of the region we supplemented this with 6 sub-regional statements setting out local priorities. This was done by working with the emerging sub-regional partnerships to provide a starting point and framework for local initiatives. This was seen as a dynamic process evolving and develping over time.
