Cairngorms Visitor Payback Initiative Research

Client: Cairngorms National Park Authority and Aviemore and the Cairngorms Destination Management Organisation Ltd
Date: 2009
The aim of the study was to provide an authoritative but accessible document that would enable the Cairngorms National Park to understand the potential for a Park-wide Visitor Payback Initiative (Visitor Payback is a term used to describe initiatives that encourage visitors to voluntarily donate to the places that they visit). The study was intended as an information gathering process with the client keen to stress that no decisions had been made on whether or not such a scheme would be implemented. As a scoping study, it presented rationales and recommendations and assessed and outlined options.
