Sustainable Tourism Strategy for Gower and Rural Swansea

Client: Rural Swansea Action
Date: 2013
We prepared a strategy and action plan for sustainable tourism in Gower – the UK’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – together with other rural parts of the City and County of Swansea in South West Wales. Gower has been recognised for some of Europe’s finest beaches but has many other landscape and heritage qualities. Elements of the consultation included four workshops with local communities, a systematic telephone survey of a sample of tourism businesses, and a series of conversations with visitors about their response to the area and its environment. We worked with colleague consultants Resources For Change on aspects of this project.
