Steve Beioley, Director

Steve Beioley graduated in civil engineering from the University of Liverpool where he also gained a masters degree in planning. He spent seven years working in local government as a town planner and subsequently joined the English Tourist Board. At ETB, he initiated the Board’s involvement in urban tourism and pioneered the Tourism Development Action Programme concept. In 1986, he left to work in tourism consultancy and since then has worked on a range of projects including regional tourism strategies, museum feasibility studies, visitor management and market research. Steve is an adviser to the University of Westminster’s Tourism and Planning course. He is a member of the Council of The Tourism Society and of the DCMS Tourism Forum.
